I was running a bit manic in January so my pdoc changed my meds a bit, which you may have seen me whine about here. Today when I met with him he asked how it’s going and I told him that I think he needs to adjust my meds back because I’ve felt so drained and sluggish. Then I was an idiot and told him that Maurice says I’m doing much better and more stable. So who does he agree with? Maurice, of course.
As I’ve mentioned many times before, mania is usually a very bad place for me. I whir around the apartment starting numerous projects but can never finish any of them because I can’t focus on one thing for very long. But that wasn’t the case in January. It felt good. I liked the high. Unfortunately I screwed myself over by taking on too many things and that’s what sent the red flags flying that my pdoc saw.
Oh well, I guess living at a normal speed is the way it’s going to have to be, for now, but I don’t have to like it…and I don’t.
I hear ya. I am seeing a dermatologist about my legs because I scratch them constantly – always itchy – and I’ve destroyed them. She gave me a med that hasn’t stopped the itching, but I definitely noticed I sleep through the night better. So I wanted to be honest that it wasn’t helping the problem I was seeking help with, but also wanted to keep sleeping sounder which is not what a dermatologist cares about anyhow! Ah, that tricky, tricky honesty thing…
Exactly! So, you know what I’m talking about. Sometimes doctors just won’t let us have any fun.
